Vanity Fair and Van Raalte get all the glory.... now don't get me wrong I adore both of these lingerie manufacturers but one of my favorites is Luxite.
Luxite by Holeproof is seriously underated, and deserves to be in every lingerie collectors closet.
Like most lingerie companies they started off by manufacturing silk hosiery.

Here is a fab 1920s calling card from a Luxite Rep
Starting in the late 40s the designs were curvy and glamorous and made from the loveliest, sheerest and silkiest nylon ever.
Coral nylon and crystal pleats, vintage Luxite late 40s to early 50s. 1950s Luxite New Old Stock Red and Black Lace Full Slip - This slip was a spurge back in the 50s and cost $10.95. Can you imagine buying this and then never once wearing it? Available at LittleThingsVintage
Luxite was bought by Kayser sometimes around 1956 and we stopped seeing the Luxite name in ads in 1958.
1956 Kayser Luxite Lingerie Ad Red slips and nightgowns Kind of a strange legless illustration!
